Vida Nueva

La Coruña, Spain

Vida Nueva is Spanish for "New Life", and that is just what this church has brought to many in the town of La Coruña.  Learn a little bit more about this congregation by viewing their video on YouTube , and visiting their website at:  www.somosvidanueva.com

It's also clear that freedom of religious expression is not nearly so "free" in Spain.  Recently, the authorities blocked off the doors of the church, causing them to meet elsewhere.  At this time, little is known about the nature of the complaint.  Check out the details here.  It is our hope that by bringing sporting activities that break down barriers to neighborhood communication and interaction, we can help to defeat the powers that would like to see this church closed.  A recent update regarding the Oct.7, 2007 Sunday service is posted here.  As of Oct.14, the conflict with the city had still not been resolved.  Read the update here.  We hope that now the "final word" has arrived from the City of La Coruña.  Find out what the Mayor said here .

Dearborn Evangelical Covenant Church is located on a corner of Dearborn, Michigan.  This community is host to the largest concentration of people of Arab ethnicity outside of the middle east.  It is culturally diverse, and our congregation has developed skills in communication that reach beyond language.  We've been blessed with skilled coaches in a number of sports, with trainers and educators, and with some that have Spanish speaking and interpreting skills.

When we asked ourselves, "What can we do for our friends, to the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ?", the answer was almost staring us in the face.  Take what you have.  Share what you know.  Love as you've been loved.
